Hello there, homemaker!

I’m Chandler! It wasn’t too long ago that I found myself a completely lost sheep; I was utterly lost in life, and more apart from God than ever before.

Driving home from work one night, I asked God, with what little faith I had, to take control of my life. I told Him I was listening, that I was ready to do things His way, instead of pursuing my own, selfish desires.

Shortly after that moment, in my search to discover God’s plan for my life as a freshly reborn Christian, (and a newlywed) I stumbled upon the Biblical homemaking community.

I humbly studied books like Fascinating Womanhood and Feminine Appeal. I was shocked to find out how much the Bible had to say about a woman’s role in marriage, motherhood, and life. I was confused that despite being raised in a Church, I had never learned about such a vital aspect of Biblical womanhood.

Over time, I realized God was calling me to a very different life than what I had pictured for myself. God drastically shifted my heart’s desires. Instead of seeking fulfillment in a career, I desperately wanted to raise babies and take care of my husband as a homemaker.

Fast-forwarding a bit, and I am now a wife, mother of 1 (with one on the way!) and a homemaker. I have never felt so certain about my life’s purpose. The joy, peace and fulfillment homemaking brings me is something I only ever dreamed of having.

This life is by no means easy! Homemakers work very hard — and our life requires much discipline and sacrifice. It’s heartbreaking that homemaking is so very undervalued in society today, even among the Christian community. Being and feeling undervalued is just one of many challenges homemakers are navigating today. There are many — all of which we will discuss here at Happy as a Homemaker!

This community is for women pursuing vibrance in marriage, motherhood, homemaking, and Biblical womanhood! We believe this work at home is more important than any career we could have. We believe our husbands and children are tremendous blessings! We want to faithfully pursue the work the Lord has set before us to glorify Him!
